Why? Because it is a challenge to try to come up with meals that cover all the bases when it comes to protein and vitamins, and make something that is yummy. I eat all kinds of foods, but I try to eat mostly vegetables. I realize now that mom was right, and I stay a lot healthier and don't gain the fat back that I have been working my, um, tail off for a couple of years. So I cut down on meats and cheeses and eat mostly plant stuff.
Some people are rightly concerned about the treatment of animals. There are so many huge hog lots and chicken processing plants with plenty of horror stories.
And now we are really worried about the food supply. What can we do? Well, if you eat plants and not creatures that have to eat plants, there will be less poopy methane producing creatures around to treat badly. Plus, there will be less grains going to the pigs, and instead this food will go directly to people. Sounds simple? Go vegan, sometimes, most the time... just try it! |
