My Own Flordali

I’ve been exploring the history of botanical art. Artists have documented botany for scientific research and aesthetic pleasure for hundreds of years, giving us realistic, vivid portraits of plants way before photography came on the scene. I just discovered Salvador Dali’s lithograph collection titled “Flordali.” These seem to take actual scientific drawings and bring them to new life, many able to move around, liberated from their roots. Inspired by Dali, I bring you this Bracken fern, flexing its fiddlehead muscle.
