Golden Barrel

I recently created this pen and ink drawing of my 10 year old Golden barrel cactus.

I started the cactus from a cutting of another golden barrel cactus that I had had since 1987.
The drawing took some time to complete. I love the creative process of detailed pen and ink, though. A cactus is a good drawing model since they don’t change much while you’re in an hours long process of drawing.
The framed drawing will be at the October 2023 Small Works show sponsored by the Mobile Arts Council, Mobile, Alabama
